Poster has a black border around a light gray background with red text and orange text. In the center is a red circle with the head of a man with long black hair. Above the man is "State" in large red lettering. Each corner hs a bird motif in red. Poster reads, "Opening Soon/ State/ Theater/ Presents/ Dance Concerts/ Plays Events/ Corner Ferry & Ward Streets/ Martinez." This historic building opened in 1926 and closed in 1931 due to fire damage. It was remodeled and reopened a year later, operating until 1961. It was used for rock concerts and community performaces during the mid 1960s, has housed the Contra Costa County Public Defenders office since 1988. [LMC]
