Poster is printed in purple ink with the text "American Invasion! Peace Arch Blaine USA Sat. May 9 2PM Invade Amerika." A graphic of a raised fist appears at lower right.
A 67-foot-tall concrete and steel structure known as the "Peace Arch" was built in Blaine, Washington (near the Canadian border) in 1921. In 1970 about 450 Canadian demonstrators, protesting the recent U.S. invasion of Cambodia, crossed the border at Peace Arch Park, tore down U.S. flags, and vandalized structures in Blaine before being driven back across the border by police and local citizens.
