Above the drawing in red lettering is "The Masses Are The Makers of History: The History of Asian American Farm Labor." Below the drawing is red text that lists speakers, events and location. Philip Vera Cruz was a leader in the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee (AWOC) and the Filipino American Vice-President of the United Farm Workers. The largely Filipino AWOC joined with the largely Latino NFWA (National Farm Workers Association] to form the UFW (United Farm Workers) in 1966. Cruz was later pushed out of the UFW by Chavez. [LMC]
