All Of Us Or None Archive. Gift of the Rossman Family.

Small square poster that has a red background with black and white text. The top has "Viva La Huelga" in black lettering. Below in white is, "Cesar Chavez of the National Farm Workers Association Friday March 11 8:00 PM New Chemistry Aud. UCD." In black is "Sponsored by Davis Friends of SNCC." There are two clues as to this being an early farmworker poster. The sponsor is "Friends of SNCC (Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee)," a major civil rights group that drew many supporters in California in the early 1960s but became less significant in the West by the later 1960s. Also, in 1966 the NFWA joined with the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee to form the United Farm Workers. [LMC]
