The poster is printed with black ink on yellow paper overall. The top edge of the poster has the text: "El Salvador:". Below this the top of the poster has a stylized drawing of a group of male and female figures holding signs and banners walking in the middle of a wide road or path, in the background there is the sun, very large and emitting long linear rays, and hills on either side. The bottom edge of the drawing has the text: "Steps to Freedom". The bottom half of the poster has the text: "Nationwide Walk-A-Thons with Nonviolent Direct Action / Saturday, October 15,1988" this followed by more text about time and location of the San Francisco and walk-a-thon and protest. The bottom of the poster has handwritten in red ink: "Buses leave 8:00 AM from Eshelman" this text overlaps some of the printed text.
