Bottom right has "(c) 1981 insurgent squeegee."

Poster has a large black circle that is cut in half by a pink a line. Below reads, "Fiftieth National Bourgeois Art Exhibit/ From the personal collection of the Fortune 500, a display of high art which perpetuates the dominance of form over content and reduces artistic creativity to marketable commodities./ August 2 - 30, 1981 La Jolla Museum of Art."

This satiric poster critiques the high art world and its market base. It was originally produced as a limited edition screenprint in 1981 and then in offset for broader distribution in 1982. The "La Jolla Museum of Art" is a fictitious institution. "Insurgent squeegee" was Cushing's screen name when in San Diego 1972-1982. [LMC]
