The poster reads, "Gay Gay Students' Union presents/ St. Valentine's Revolutionary Emacipation/War Dance & Massacre/ lights by Holy See Martin Becker/ Wicked Polly/ Friday Feb. 12 9-1/ Pauley Ballroom/ U.C. Berkeley/ &1.50." This the first poster for public gay dance at U.C. Berkeley. The first public gay dance had been held the year before and had drawn extensive news coverage; Governor Reagan's comment to a reporter about the event was "I haven't been invited yet." [LMC]
