"From 'Rape Poem,' Living In The Open, by Marge Piercy, 1976 Knopf" printed at bottom left and "Poster (c) Inez Garcia June '76" printed at bottom right. "labor / feminist press league / donated" printed on verso, bottom left corner.

Double-sided poster printed with green and brownish-red ink on white paper. A green rectangle at top contains a quote by Inez Garcia in Spanish at left and English at right. The English text reads, "If you kill the man that raped you or that helped rape you, to me, it's defending your honor and your person. I am one of many women fighting for the right of women to defend themselves, and I'm not going to stop fighting until the court recognizes that I killed in self defense." A portrait photograph of Inez Garcia in profile appears at lower right on a green background. The back of the portrait fades into a red background at left where an excerpt of "Rape Poem" by Marge Piercy is printed. The opposite side of the poster contains an open letter at center by Inez Garcia in Spanish and English asking for support during her murder trial. Multiple photographs with captions frame the letter and show Garcia and others who support self-defense for women against physical violence.
