Poster has a brown patterned border around the edge. The top has a brown and white photograph of men playing brass instruments. The poster reads, "Bodega Bay Benefit/ Sunday, May 31st - 6:00 PM to Midnight/ Earthquake McGoon's/ 630 Clay St., San Francisco/ Ly Watters/ with/ Turk Murphy's Jazz Band/ plus/ Goodtime Washboard Three/ Hal McIntyre - Master of Ceremonies/ Donation $5.00 per person.* Ticket's available at the door./ All proceeds will go to the association to preserve Bodega Head and Harbor from P.G. & E.s's proposed atomic power plant." This modest poster for a folk music musical fundraiser is among the earliest evidence of community resistance to the first proposed nuclear ("atomic," still in 1950s terminology) power plant sited on a known geological fault. The plant was never built. An earlier poster on this issue can be seen at #2010.54.686 [LMC]
