Poster has an unprinted white and thin black border. Poster is printed with a stylized drawing overall. Poster has a stylized drawing of two clown figures in white, they are holding up opposite sides of a large hoop, with folding fans attached to it. In between the two figures, below the hoop is a small dog standing on its hind legs on a ball with a red star on it, the dog is holding a pink umbrella. The ground behind the figures is brown with on orange line at the horizon and a blue sky. There are several differently colored umbrellas floating in the sky. Overlaid on the sky, the top of the poster has text in orange: "5Th Annual / Castro Street / Fair / Sunday, August 20Th / 1978". The right edge of the poster has many small circular registration marks in pink, blue, yellow, and black.
