Bottom edge has "(c) 1961 Esoteric Poster Company Mcndell Graphics."
Poster is printed on red paper with blue text and images. In the center is a native man holding a bow in one hand and leaves in the other. The poster reads in separate sentences, "Smoke Marijuana/ Offer void where prohibited by law/ Turn on your mother this week/ superior stash.../ Grass is fun/ Redecorate your home in blue smoke today!/ $10 lid/ 13/ Imported by B.A. Head and Co."
These posters were produced as very early critical parody of the drug culture by the Esoteric Poster Company, but the message was so subtle that they were popular among the very community they sought to mock. Esoteric's founder and owner Howard Moresburg hired graphic artists Roland Crump (a former Disney animator) and Robert Wendell to produce these designs. [LMC]
