Goshen Canyon
Four (4) butterflies in a Riker Mount which is a thin, glass-topped, cotton-filled exhibition case. Upper side of forewing has marginal markings that are lighter than the submarginal stripe. Below, forewing tip and hindwing have veins outlined with brown. These range in size from 1 1/8 x 1 to 1 1/4 x 1 7/8. The two butterflies in the middle are folded. The one on the top and the one in middle right are male, the rest are female. Verso: A dark pink stamp that has a box with the following information inside: "Collection of Clay Ward Inglewood-California NAME [line] on DATE [line] LOCATION [line]" In black handwritten ink on the NAME line: "Pieris occidentalis" In black handwritten ink on the DATE line: "July 6, 1934" In black handwritten ink on the LOCATION line:"GoshenCanyon Utah Co. Utah" In handwritten black ink "Western White". Male and female symbols are stamped below in pink that correspond to the butterflies on recto.
