Santaquin Canyon; Inglewood
Six (6) butterflies in a Riker Mount which is a thin, glass-topped, cotton-filled exhibition case. These range in size from 3/4 x 1 to 7/8 x 1 1/4. The following is from top to bottom and then left to right. The first butterfly is brown with orange and brown spots in center of wings and is female. The second butterfly is folded and is brown with white at edge of wings, orange in center of upper wing, brown spots throughout and is female. The third is iridescent brown and orange with small tails and is male. The fourth and fifth are brown with orange and brown spots at bottom of hind wing and small tails and is female and male respectively. The last butterfly is folded and is light brown with row of white, orange, and brown spots along wing and small tail and is female. Verso: A dark pink stamp that has a box with the following information inside: "Collection of Clay Ward Inglewood-California NAME [line] on DATE [line] LOCATION [line]" In black handwritten ink on the NAME line: "Tharsalea virginensis" In black handwritten ink on the DATE line: "July 14, 1933" In black handwritten ink on the LOCATION line:"Santaquin Canyon Utah Co., Utah" In handwritten black ink "The Nevada Copper".
