Two (2) butterflies in a Riker Mount which is a thin, glass-topped, cotton-filled exhibition case. The top butterfly is bright yellow with a thick brown border with gray towards the body. The second butterfly is bright yellow with mottled a brown border with gray towards body. The top butterfly is male. The bottom butterfly is female. Verso: A dark pink stamp that has a box with the following information inside: "Collection of Clay Ward Inglewood-California NAME [line] on DATE [line] LOCATION [line]" In black handwritten ink on the NAME line: "Colias chrysomelas" In black handwritten ink on the DATE line: "May 19, 1932" In black handwritten ink on the LOCATION line:"Orleans Humboldt Co., Calif" In handwritten black ink "The Gold and Black Sulphur". Male and female symbols are stamped below in pink that correspond to the butterflies on recto.
