Temple
Three (3) butterflies in a Riker Mount which is a thin, glass-topped, cotton-filled exhibition case. They range in size 1 1/8 x 1 1/8 to 1 3/8 x 1 7/8. These are mottled brown with row of eyespots along edges of wings. The middle one is folded. The top butterfly is female and the rest are male. Verso: A dark pink stamp that has a box with the following information inside: "Collection of Clay Ward Inglewood-California NAME [line] on DATE [line] LOCATION [line]" In black handwritten ink on the NAME line: "Asterocampina Cletis montis" In black handwritten ink on the DATE line: "Aug. 24, 1931" In black handwritten ink on the LOCATION line:"Temple, Okla." In handwritten black ink "Mountain Emperor". Male and female symbols are stamped below in pink that correspond to the butterflies on recto.
