Inglewood
Five (5) butterflies in a Riker Mount which is a thin, glass-topped, cotton-filled exhibition case. Upper side of wings white; forewing with black tip. Two submarginal black spots. Underside of hindwing and forewing apex evenly yellow-green or gray-green. They range in size from 1 5/16 x 1 /18 to 1 1/8 x 1 3/4. There are two folded butterflies on the second row. They are both facing inwards. VERSO:A dark pink stamp that has a box with the following information inside: "Collection of Clay Ward (obstructed by a hook used to hang the mount) Inglewood-California NAME [line] on DATE [line] LOCATION [line]" In black handwritten ink on the NAME line: "Pieris rapae" In black handwritten ink on the DATE line: "May 7, 1934" In black handwritten ink on the LOCATION line:"Inglewood, Calif" In black ink below the box: "Cabbage butterfly"
