Three (3) butterflies in a Riker Mount which is a thin, glass-topped, cotton-filled exhibition case. Upper surface of wings creamy white with black stripes. Front wing is narrow and pointed; tail of hindwing is long, slender and twisted. They range in size from 2 3/4 x 3 3/16 to 2 3/8 x 2 3/4. They are arranged in one column. All three butterflies are male. The middle butterfly is folded. Verso: -A dark pink stamp that has a box with the following information inside: "Collection of Clay Ward (obstructed by a hook used to hang the mount) Inglewood-California NAME [line] on DATE [line] LOCATION [line]" In black handwritten ink on the NAME line: "P. eurymedon" In black handwritten ink on the DATE line: "July 28, 1930" In black handwritten ink on the LOCATION line:"Orfino Idaho" Below in handwritten black ink is: "Pale Swallowtail". Male and Female symbols are stamped below in pink that correspond to the butterflies on recto. Below this "Pale Swallowtail" is written in pencil.
