Ephraim Canyon
Five (5) butterfly in a Riker Mount which is a thin, glass-topped, cotton-filled exhibition case. Predominantly orange with brown spots. Silver spots on underside of hind wings. They range in size from 1 5/16 x 2 1/8 to 1 1/4 x 15/16. The following description is from top to bottom and then left to right: The first two butterflies and the fourth are female. The rest are male. Verso: A dark pink stamp that has a box with the following information inside: "Collection of Clay Ward (obstructed by a hook used to hang the mount) Inglewood-California NAME [line] on DATE [line] LOCATION [line]" In black handwritten ink on the NAME line: Arygnnis eurynome" In black handwritten ink on the DATE line: "June 28-1934" In black handwritten ink on the LOCATION line:"Ephraim Canyon Sanpete County-Utah" Below in hand written black ink is "The Eurynome Silver-spot." Male and female symbols are stamped below in pink that correspond to the butterflies on recto.
