Three (3) butterflies in a Riker Mount which is a thin, glass-topped, cotton-filled exhibition case.   They are lined up and the one in the middle has folded wings. Upper side is black with white spots near the apex; forewing with red median band, hindwing with red marginal band. They range in size from 1 x 1 1/2 to 1 1/2 x 2 3/4.  The first two are female and the last one is male.   VERSO: A dark pink stamp that has a box with the following information inside: "Collection of Clay Ward (obstructed by a hook used to hang the mount) Inglewood-California NAME [line] on DATE [line] LOCATION [line]" In black handwritten ink on the NAME line: "Vanessa Atalanta" In black handwritten ink on the DATE line: "July 29, 1930 "In black handwritten ink on the LOCATION line:"Brokenhead Manitoba, Canada." Below in handwritten black ink is: "The Red Admiral". Male and Female symbols are stamped below in pink that correspond to the butterflies on recto.
