APPROXIMATE DATE: 1890 NOTES: 1847-19??. Born Monmouth, Me., the artist settled in S.F. in 1875. He executed a series of black & white illustrations for J. Muir's book on the King's River Canyon, and in the last decade of the century devoted himself to painting a huge cyclorama of Yosemite Valley from Inspiration Pt. The dimen. of the canvas were some 50 x 400'. This painting shows how in his later life Robinson's works verged on commercialism. ARTIST BIRTH: 1847 ARTIST DEATH: 1933
