Hardcover book with velum cover decorated with illumated script (script is upside-down in orientation to book pages). The book contains excerpts of Theodor De Bry's grand voyages to America with illustrations based on first-hand descriptions. Printed in German with multiple engravings. This is the only German edition containing an abridgement by Philip Ziegler of the first nine parts of the 'Great Voyages'. Original maps previously removed from this book.
