His large-scale paintings, which incorporate Eastern principles of the elements, the body, and the senses, speak of the conditions of the Vietnamese throughtout periods of warfare and social upheaval. Although his imagery, which can include body parts and organs, might seem to be almost gruseome in nature, the final work actually feels quite eloquent.
