Basket bowl, rounded, incurve top. Coiled; dec. unknown des. in redbud below; 6 bands white glass beads above "Probably Yuki construction. Unusual beading."(L. Dawson,65) "Not Miwok as originally catalogued, Yuki. Extremely rare, one of only two extant baskets. Sedge root with redbud pattern, white glass beads, commercial cord. I have seen only one other basket of this type. It was so similar, I wonder if it was by the same hand. Bead decorated baskets, made using Yuki technology, are nearly non-existant. This is an important piece, and may be the only such example in an institution."(Craig Bates, 8/91) Possibly made in Round Valley (Craig Bates correspondence 8/12/91, documentation project files).
