Gold Fever! The Lure and Legacy of the California Gold Rush. Jan. 24, 1998 - Oct. 31, 1999 "Natives and Settlers," Great Hall, 12-17-79 to 3-9-80.

Basket bowl. Miwok Tribe "Mush server."(LR) "Probably Northern Miwok from Ione. Beads possibly strung on twisted sinew. Basket of sedge root and bracken fern root, encrusted with acorn soup. The herringbone rim finish, with the combination of designs and materials points to a distinctively Ione origin. I think this is one of four baskets (including 16.376, 16.385, 16.383) representative of a specific type of Miwok basket used as a drinking cup or personal acorn soup basket used for drinking thin acorn soup."(C. Bates, 8/91) See Craig Bates correspondence, 8/12/91. (Documentation project files).
