Sampler-framed. Aug. 28, 1843. Elizabeth McCormic Sampler, Savannah, Ferguson - Teacher started 1840 finished in Aug. 1843. Alphabets embroidered in two sizes. Fancy scroll embroidered all around. (DC 4/92) Unframed. ibm, 7/1/93: Elizabeth McCormic employed a variety of stitches in her sampler; in particular note the houses and garden gates on the top and bottom borders of her piece. The sampler is now mounted on cotton ecology cloth.
