Chinese gambling device small box w/32 pieces inside. Period or Date: California Period - Mother Lode. Description: Small wood box with 32 round marked pieces stacked inside box. (D. Peterson 2/79) Date: E. 1900's. China. Chess pieces (32) w/ box; round ivory pieces w/ carved designations ie. horse, warrior, chariot, cannon, etc., in green and red. Box: rectangular dark brown wood box w/ sliding top. Condition: good. Dimensions: game pieces: diam 7/8" x 1/4" Box: 4 1/4" x 2 3/8" x 1 1/4". This object is a Chinese chess set, not a gambling device. (C. Whittall, 8/2000)
