Gold Fever! The Lure and Legacy of the California Gold Rush. Jan 24, 1998 - Oct. 31, 1999

Handmade iron scoop. (R. Hillman, 4/97) One of these is a crevassing tool. There is a spoon shape at one end and a small hook at the end of the handle. The iron is badly corroded. Crevassing tools were used to scrape placer gold out of tiny cracks and crevasses between rocks.
