Barrel (cracker?). Description: wooden staves, are marked "WRA Auburn," held in place by 2 wooden hoops at top, one op center, and one at bottom. Part of top clipped. From Newcastle. From the History Information Station: Barrel made of wooden staves fastened with Iron rings. Pioneer households stored staple foods such as flour, sugar, corn, oatmeal, or crackers, apples or nuts, in large barrels. The light wooden barrels were easy to move, though they sometimes leaked or were invaded by mice.
