Measuring stick. Description: for Chinese scales, teak wood (?), tiny brass inlay for design and divisions; used by merchants commonly, from Oakland Chinatown. (D. Peterson 2/79) Date: E. 1900's. China. Handscale (steelyard) arm; tapered wood stick w/ inlaid brass calibrations; four drilled holes at one end. Condition: very good.
