Cooper, 10/2002, Hills Newspapers, 9/27/02) Founded by Herman and Eugenia Sack, Piedmont Grocery opened its doors on Piedmont Ave. in 1902. After a fire destoryed the first store in 1904, the business moved a block to its present location at 4038 Piedmont Ave....A Key Route station was opened right across the street...The Sacks retired in 1915.
