Chair. Description: Chair, patented swivel type. Madalion at base of bentwood arms leads: "Heywood Bros. & Co., Gardner, Mass., Pat. Jan. 7, 1873." Bentwood back frame with leather back pad and seat. Decorative element on back of chair carries silver shield: "Presented to Capt. Wm. C. Little by The Members of O.L.C. (Oakland Light Calvary, Oakland, California, Sept. 30, 1878." Base has four legs. History: Desk and chair were owned by Mr. Follett's stepfather whose family had been that of Capt. Little. These furnishings graced "Littlebank" in Mosswood Park on Broadway.
