Hollywood Movie Studio Prints. Description: Group I, Black Kid (Hal Roach's Little Rascals). History: This collection is a further donation of the Maynard family. Detailed family history is in files of two previous donations. The donor, Alice Sproge, was an avid movie fan in her teens and collected many movie star photos, some actually signed personally to her. Also other movie material, more shoes from Maynard-Jones Shoe Shop in San Francisco, clothing, party favors, paper dolls dating from ca. 1880 - 1935. This child actor was known as "Farina", in Hal Roach's "Our Gang" movie serials. Later in the series, when it was known as "The Little Rascals", other black child actors were known as "Stymie", and "Buckwheat", in the mid-1930's-early 1940's. This child was in the first group of kids used in the series, early 1930's - R.B.E.
