B. Howard 1931"; inscribed lower right "in collaboration with Ralph Stackpol". History: original cartoon by Robert Howard who executed this sculpture for the Paramount as well as the wall reliefs for the same theatre in conjunction with the Miller and Pfleuger architectural office, S.F. Some elements of the anatomy of the horses were added on the drawing by the S.F. sculptor, Ralph Stockpole. Mr. Howard is the son of John Galen Howard.
