This red, white and blue matchbook features the "City of Paris" on the front (with the store's crest). On the top: Paul Verdier, Pres." On the back is the Tower of the Sun (The tallest building on Treasure Island for the Golden Gate International Exposition), with the sun setting behind it, "San Francisco, 1939" printed at the bottom. The insie is blue, printed in white "Since 1850, City of Paris, Apace with Time!" (Also showing an illustration of the Eiffel Tower and an hour glass.

The City of Paris was a Department store in San Francisco founded in the 1850s.
