Photograph. Description: Photograph, black and white albumen photo mounted on board, unframed, not matted. Scene is of large group of men posed before a brick building housing a post office, billiard parlor, and stoves and tinware store. Several young boys are visible on left and right of the group, a fire hydrant is at the bottom center; black man in the center is holding a very yellowed and decomposing, photo has moisture stains around left edge and is very yellow. 9 7/8" x 11 7/8". History: Photo was found in the donor's father's home and once belonged to a man who was retired postal employee. Location of scene is unknown, but probably Oakland.
