Description: Coiled, start is black; 2 rows zigzag with line top and bottom on bottom of basket; 3 rows zigzag with black triangle top and bottom; 2 rows zigzag within lines then inverted triangle with zigzag line at neck, black faded somewhat. Devil's claw is the material used for the design. It was collected among the Chemehuevi of the Colorado River area, and dates to the late 19th or early 20th century. History: This basket is used for storing foodstuffs or household items."
