Hat. Description: Black felt (leather interior band) with decorative hat band of red and yellow satin with a flat bow on the left side. Black cord under the chin, labels: "Bertillion, Leading Hatter, 1321 Broadway, Oakland, Ca.", "Official Dons of Peralta Hat." 12-1/8" x 12-7/8" x 4 1/4". History: Worn by donor's father/father-in-law in Dons of Peralta Parage at a time when there was talk of unifying the communities of Alameda County into "Obapesla" (Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda, Piedmont, Emeryville, San Leandro, Albany).
