One straw hat. Description: Large black straw sailor hat, small crown decorated with a black grosgarin band with matching bow and bunch of artificial black cherries on either side; straw badc at underside back fits head and holds hat in place; label reads: "Mae Niedt, Oakland, Calif." Condition: excellent. 15-3/4" diam. x 2". History: This hat came from the shop at which Miss Helen worked before Addys' and her own place. Remarks: Particularly stylish black straw sailor. Very tilted, 1939-1940. Sailor shaped hat. (Joan Severa, 3/8/1994)
