Gym bloomers. Description: a: Heavy black cotton twill gym bloomers, three button closing placket at the left, elastic at the leg bottom, five belt loops at waist, the front is deocrated with athletic and cheerleading awards won by the donor, right leg is decorated top to bottom with a blue and white felt winged shield with an "O", below that is an oval with "29" in it (also in blue and white felt) surrounded by four white felt stars: left leg is decorated top to bottom with a blue and white felt megaphone with an acorn on it centered with an "O", beneath that is another oval with "29" stitched on (also in blue and white felt) and also surrounded by four white felt stars; white stripe down left leg is hand embroidered with donor's maiden name: "Lillian Gittelson 'OAK'". b: Belt, to be worn with "a", white webbing with a "silver" buckle. Condition: Very good, a few rust spots on item "b". a: Wasit band, 1-7/8" x 35", 21 1/4 waist to pant hem. b: 1 1/2" x 35-5/8". Condition: Very good, a few rust spots on item "b". History: Worn by donor who was a student at Oakland High School. See file for further history. Remarks: Label inside waist of "a" reads: "Somerzalt, Los Angeles, Reg. U.S. Pat. Off." in red on white.
