Photograph. Description: One black and white photograph. One glossy black and white snapshot, subject matter is back view of a man dressed in a jump suit, unstacking a kiln after a glaze firing. The kiln (gas) was located at the Mills College Ceramic shop, notice the doll-like "kiln gods" made of clay sitting on the top of the kiln. Condition: Excellent. 3 1/2" x 5". History: Man in the photograph is well-known California artist, Bob Arneson when he was a graduate student at Mills College. The professor was Tony Prieto. The photographer of this picture (and the other two in this collection) was Harry Myers, a fellow graduate student in ceramics. This was the Spring of 1958, just before Bob received his M.F.A. degree from Mills. Bob Arneson unstacking kiln at Mills College, Spring 1958.
