Badge. Description: Silver colored metal in shape of shield with eagle on top. Reads "Auxiliary Volunteer Police/ C D/ Oakland, Calif./ 3093". Condition: very good. 2 1/4" width 3" height. History: This badge was first assigned to a Civil Defense worker shorly after World War II in the Oakland area. It was reassigned to C.D. employee Scott Welch who came into the office to donate it to the collections on 2/6/79 when (in the course of inspecting for C.D) he saw the exhibition items in the permanent gallery on the Civil Defense projects.
