Petticoat - White cotton petticoat with opening at top of back seam. The petticoat is gathered below the waistband. A buttonhole worked in white thread is on the right edge of the waistband near the back opening. At the edge of the hem is white eyelet done in two flower shapes with a scalloped edge. It is machine sewn and ankle length. Dimemsions: 6 1/2 " long, 15" hem circumference. References/Remarks: the donor is the daughter-in-law of Emma Morgan North, the sister of architect Julia Morgan. (J. Handley, 1991). Doll is probably a Bru, but is unmarked. It appears to be like those marked "Brevette", an earlier type made by the Bru firm. The face, body and hands are all Bru characteristics.
