Description: black metal Victory Thermos lunch pail, "V" on either side of the rounded lid, black plastic handle, silver metal latches, painted white inside, metal latch to hold a bottle inside lid Dimensions: 7 1/2 x 7-3/4 x 10" Condition: black scratched, metal rusted, inside dirty From the History Information Station: World War II workers at the shipyards, and elsewhere across the nation, took their meals in pails like this one. The "V" on the pail is another time-honored tradition. Lunch pails were display panels for political buttons and slogans before the turn of century. This is a "V" for "Victory" in World War II.
