Dress. Description: short sleeved dress, with bateau neckline in front, low neck in back (neck trimmed with black velvet, large bow at the back and streamers which fall to below the hem in the back), unpressed pleated skirt; silk, printed in abstract squiggles in horizontal lines, rust, brick and black on white; fastens in the back with hooks and a zipper; completely lined in white. condition: excellent. Dimensions: 25" waist x 8-1/2" neck to waist at back x 45" shoulder to hem History: "Suzy Perette, New York" label at neck. Purchased at Kahn's department store in Oakland (purse listed below was carried with this dress). References/Remarks: Mrs. Cook used this dress as her wedding gown. She also said that whenever she wore it, she always received compliments. She described it as "a happy dress", one of which she was always fond. It has its own attached stiffened petticoat.
