Description: black silk satin cape with high collar; embroidered on cape body and collar with black beads and black sequins; pattern is a floral spray with scrolls along entire edge of cape; lined with black silk taffeta; closes at collar with three hooks, and has a black bow of doublefaced silk satin on right side of collar. Dimensions: width 38"; nape to hem 17 7/8" History: Belonged to Mrs. William E. Dargie (nee Ermina Peralta). Purchased at the City of Paris in San Francisco. Graduated sequins and seed beads; elegant top, not out of place in the 90's (in the 1890's there would be more fullness). (Joan Severa, 3/15/1994)
