Receiver is hung on cradle to side of candlestick which is topped by daffodil shaped speaker. Dialless base. Clear plastic window at top, yellowed from age, was for insertion of telephone number or exchange. Patent information is molded into rear of speaker. Paper inspection tag on bottom of base is stained, a piece torn from lower edge. Original brown braided silk electrical wiring. Was installed in home on Glen Dome Circle (Glenview section of Oakland) in 1929 as a third phone by the donor who was an electrical engineer and had previously worked for the phone company. His wife, Kay Hucke, is a Women's Board member and former Chairman of the White Elephant Sale.
