Pleat in the back is top stitched to "yoke" where pleat falls free. Collar is large, decorated with three covered buttons at each of the two points, and two covered buttons at each side in the front. Cuffs are decorated with a strap and two covered buttons. Sleeves are set in with piping. Lining is bright yellow printed with Japanese style motifs, medallions, cherry blossoms, and delicate black birds. Date is fine. Lining is yellow printed Japanese silk. Lovely! Nice pastoral Japanese scene, for a big lady. Probably for an older woman. (Joan Severa, 3/4/1994)
