TREASURE ISLAND 1939 SAN FRANCISCO MADE BY CALIFORNIA COTTON MILLS CO TRADEMARK CALCOT GUARANTEED FAST COLOR
The towel is mint green, reverse white with jacquard design of stylized bridges in center surrounded by inscription. It was purchased at the California Cotton Mills exhibit in the Golden Gate International Exposition on Treasure Island by the donor's mother, Elizabeth Wells. She was born in New Foundland, Canada and came to California with her family as a little girl, ca. 1895. The family settled in Oakland, where the donor was born and still lives.
