Clipping on the back of the photo reads, "September 8, 1991--Rage gripped Oakland when Superintendent Marcus Foster was murdered in 1973." Photo shows a large crowd gathered around a hearse. A coffin is being carried up a set of stairs by two pallbearers. Another man is walking in front of the coffin. Many of the men in the crowd are wearing carnations pinned to the lapels of their suit jackets.
