Silver and Black, Raiders Exhibit, September 1995-January 1996

Photo shows a Raider about to tackle the Kansas City Chiefs quaterback before he can throw the ball. Ben Davidson is behind them fighting with another Chiefs. A large crowd watching the game in the background. From exhibition label: "RAIDERS-CHIEFS RIVALRY, January 4, 1970. Linebacker Gus Otto (34) blitzes Kansas City Chief quarterback and Hall of Famer Len Dawson (16) as Raider Ben Davidson applies pressure. The Raiders and Chiefs have played in the same division since 1963. From 1966 through 1972, the teams occupied the two top positions in their division, with the Raiders winning the crown five times and the chiefs twice. The level of intensity on the field and in the stands was always high when the two teams collided. The mere mention of Chief players, such as Willie Lanier, Ed Podolak and Buck Buchanon brought Raiders fans blood to a boil. The feeling was mutual in Kansas City. In 1993, more than 20 years after the height of the rivalry, a 'Hate the Raiders Night,' featuring Marv Hubbard, Ben Davidson and George Blands, drew a capacity throng to a Kansas City arena."
